Frequently Asked Questions
What is Evenson Enterprises?
Evenson Enterprises is a consulting firm that can help
you shape and guide your organization into a smooth-running, nimble team. We
help create organizations capable of thinking creatively, strategically, and
technically, along with the structure that encourages the ability to execute.
Our emphasis is in bridging the performance gap due to differences in skills,
viewpoints, specializations, financial goals or reporting structures.
Why was Evenson Enterprises created?
Many companies are struggling to make the most of their
resources. They don't have good inter-department communication. They don't
have a product development process that allows them to ship quality products
on time, with features their customers want. Their employees have low morale
or don't know how to effectively make decisions or get their jobs done within
the larger framework of the organization. As a result, products are late, employees
are unhappy, customers are not satisfied, and profits are down. We want to
change that. Creating a flexible framework for ensuring repeatable success
is the best foundation you can provide an organization. This is our passion.
Who are Evenson Enterprises' clients?
We have worked with groups from start-ups still defining
their corporate culture to departments of companies building a more repeatable
product development process. If you think your organization can be tuned to
work better, we can help.
What services does Evenson Enterprises offer?
We provide services in harder to define areas such as
reorganization and post-merger integration, process creation, and inter-department
communication. Our services are always tailored to your needs.
Examples of services:
- Process Creation: Create or improve a product development process that spans
the entire organization, from senior executives who approve and fund the product
to the team that will support the product.
- Create New Departments: Create or improve departmental process and procedures.
This could be helping you create an entirely new department from scratch, or
assistance with an existing department, such as roles in a Marketing organization
and how the different Marketing groups relate to each other.
- Improve communication: Improve cross-functional and intra- and inter-department
communication. We can help set expectations, create guidelines, clarify roles
and workflow.
- Improve teamwork and "corporate culture": Improve your organization's
teamwork and corporate culture through improved processes and communication
methods, or set up an employee recognition program.
- Reorganizations: Reorganize your organizational structure, whether it's for
more efficiency and better teamwork, or it's in an M&A environment, where
we can help facilitate group consolidation and work out new roles and processes
for the group, reducing confusion and productivity loss.
What are the benefits of working with Evenson Enterprises?
The benefits of working with us include:
- A repeatable methodology for success
- A structured framework for individual decision-making
- Increased visibility into your projects
- Smoother communication and collaboration
- Increased teamwork and employee morale
- More satisfied clients and customers
How does Evenson Enterprises work?
We do not start with a certain philosophy or methodology
to "fix" anything. We listen intently to your needs. We observe how
the organization acts and interacts. We look at how "transparent" the
operation is, and look for ways to improve it: in communication style, in process,
in both individual and group environments.
What makes Evenson Enterprises different?
Other consulting firms can assist with team building or
process creation, but the Evenson Enterprises advantage is Jennifer A.D. Evenson,
founder and "Chief Mechanic." Ms. Evenson has a rare mix of skills
and experience that give her the ability to see things other people don't.
- Organizational Breadth: Jennifer has worked in marketing, sales, support, consulting,
and product development positions, and understands the needs of those departments
intimately. Her diverse educational background includes economics, computer science,
and a Masters in Business Administration, and she holds certificates in Project
Management and Training & Human Resource Development.
- Specialist and Generalist: Jennifer has the perfect blend of specialist and
generalist. She uses her skills as a specialist with her experience working in
departments across the organization to be able to communicate effectively with
people in all departments. She uses her skills as a generalist to see how problems
and changes impact the entire organization, and help people from different departments
understand each other. When looking at the "big picture" of an organization,
Jennifer can quickly get the "pulse" of an organization and truly understand
the concerns of everyone in an organization and how decisions will affect people
in all departments.
- Strong Industry Ties: Jennifer is a member of a number of professional organizations
such as the Institute of Management Consultants USA, the Software Development
Forum, Coachville, and the National Association of Female Executives. In addition
to keeping up-to-date, she has access to a vast network of additional resources,
should your organization require it.
"Jennifer excels at harnessing the knowledge of the company. This company-wide
view combined with her knowledge of the industry gives her great credibility
and success when suggesting improvements in internal systems, department processes,
and pricing policies." -- Jack Falk, Co-Author of
